Text/Email Alerts

Email/Text Alert Instructions:

1. Go to www.rainedout.com
2. In the Search Bar, type Aldersgate and press “Search.”
3. In the Green Box, Click the link for Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Rock Hill, SC
4. You will be directed to our System Page (You may want to add this page to your Favorites to make it easy to return).
5. You will see a “Sign Up!” tab at the bottom.  In the White Box, please enter your email address or your Cell Phone Number that you would like to receive the messages.  Check the box “Agree to Terms of Service” (You can read if you like), then click the button “Start Signup.”
6. After a few minutes, log into your email account and look for an email from “Rainedout Validation” or check your phone for a Text message.   You may need to check you spam folder.  In that email or text, there will be a Four Digit code which you will enter into the Validation Code Box in Step 2.  NOTE:  You may need to check your Spam settings to allow emails from Rainedout.com.
7. You will then be taken to Step 3.  There you will see a listing of each group that you could receive emails or Texts from.  For each group you would like to receive emails from, such as Prayer List, UMM, UMW, etc., click the word “Subscribe” beside each one listed there.  NOTE:  If you would like to receive Alerts BOTH by email and Text, you will need to subscribe under both.  Subscribing you email address does not automatically enroll you to receive texts, or vice versa.
8. That’s it.  You are now subscribed to receive emails and/or Text Alerts.
9. If at any time you would like to cancel or subscribe/unsubscribe from certain list, follow the above directions through step “4.”  But instead of a new subscription, follow the link at the bottom of the page, “Manage My Subscription.”

Here is an alternative way to receive messages as a Text Message, please follow these instructions.  Remember standard text rates apply with your carrier.

1. Text PRAYER to 70359 to receive Prayer List alerts
2. Text YOUTH to 70359 to receive Youth alerts
3. c.       Text BSA316 to 70359 to receive Pack/Troop 316
4. Text GSA157 to 70359 to receive Group 157 alerts
5. Text ALERTS to 70359 to receive Alerts (Closings, Cancellations, etc.)
6. Text EVENTS to 70359 to receive Events alerts (Meeting Reminders, Upcoming Events, etc.)
7. Text AUMCUMM to 70359 to receive UMM alerts
8. Text AUMCUMW to 70359 to receive UMW alerts
9. Text AUMCGIF to 70359 to receive GIF Sunday School Class alerts

NOTE:  You may unsubscribe at any time by Texting the word STOP to 70359

Let me make a couple points regarding privacy.  There will be no Prayer Request, meeting reminders, or targeted information posted online or distributed church wide.  The only information that will be sent to everyone who subscribes and posted online will be items such as:

1. Weekly Newsletter notification
2. Notices of Upcoming Church Events (Dinners, Fall Festival, Auctions, VBS, Easter Egg Hunt, etc.)
3. Notices of Cancellations and/or Closings
4. Other notices deemed necessary for distribution by Pastor

We may find it necessary to add other groups at a later time.  So, if your Sunday School Class, Group, etc., would like a group, please let the Church Secretary know.
