Every congregation in South Carolina is faced with members being unemployed or struggling to make their businesses profitable. But “Methodists Meeting Methodists” will allow members of your congregation to advertise in the Advocate in a special way and with special rates. There is a belief that if we have an opportunity to do business with other United Methodists, we would. There are many congregations who do not know what fellow
members do for a living, but if they knew, they would likely patronize their business.
Also, if they knew of a United Methodist businessperson in their surrounding community, who attends a different United Methodist Church, then they, too, would likely do business with them.

For as low as $65/month (prices listed below), a business can reach up to 35,000 possible customers or clients.

It is easy for your members to advertise. All they need to do is send a business card along with a short description of their business to the Advocate: by mail at 4908 Colonial Drive, Columbia, SC 29203, by fax at 803-735-8168 or by email at advocatesales@umcsc.org.

If they advertise for six months or more, the Advocate will feature them in a new “Business of the Month” section for one of those months. This “Business of the Month” section will print the description provided.

We are asking for your help! Would you please announce this feature to your congregation or make copies for distribution?

• If there is one person who may obtain a job
• If there is one business saved through additional sales
• If there is one or two businesses that end up working together
• Then both YOU and the Advocate have done our jobs.

$65/month for 12 months ($780 total) (includes one Business of the Month feature)

Billed monthly (5% discount if paid in advance)

Deadlines are the 10^th  of each month for the following month’s paper.
